Utrechtsestraat is also a few minutes walk away and it's popular for browsing little boutique shops and has some nice little deli's & up market restaurants. Transport couldn't be better with trams running frequently. Or, what better way to explore Amsterdam than by hiring a couple of bikes from the owners. Boat hire is also available.
