Things to do for Culture Lovers in Amsterdam

The Cultuurpark Westergasfabriek, Jordaan & Westerpark

Culture, history, relaxation and nature. All of these work surprisingly well here and it's also very family friendly. This city park boasts great venues for events and exhibitions, a film theatre, historical factory buildings, a great place to cycle/walk and a range of cafes and bars. Their monthly Sunday market is one not to be missed.

ArTricks Gallery , Jordaan & Westerpark

small and unassuming gallery from the outside, but a vibrant and lively gallery on the inside. Its collection specialises in street art: graffiti, stencil art, comic art, lowbrow and punk and has gained wider public attention through the works of artists such as Banksy and Ernest Pignon-Ernest.

Gallery Pien Rademakers, Oost & Havens Oost

This gallery recently moved to a new location on KNSM island, which has two floors dedicated to new visual art, design and fashion.

Rockarchive , Centre

Founded in 2004, it’s a small photogallery with a collection of fabulous, classic images of rock and jazz. Located on the Prinsengracht, it contains the work of more than 50 renowned photographers and is well worth a browse.

Gallery Bart, Jordaan & Westerpark

A gallery based in the beautiful Jordaan area of the city, it contains work from new and upcoming artists, mainly from the Netherlands. The emphasis is on paintings and photography and often exhibits large sculptures from new materials such as rubber and epoxy.
