Stayed for a long weekend in Berlin in November at Apartment Knaack and had a great time, lovely bohemian and friendly city.
The apartment was in a great location, quiet but clean and comfortable. This is not in a central tourist area, which suited us as it gave a feeling of being in a more residential part of the city, however there are numerous bars and restaurants to choose from throughout this area and the train station is a short walk away.
Overall I would recommend this as a place to stay if you're an independent traveller who wants a flavour of the real Berlin. Writing this makes me want to go back- I fell in love with Berlin and can't wait to return!

A friend and I stayed four nights in Apartment Knaack in September 2010. The apartment was a very good size, nicely furnished and clean. We had relatively high hopes that we had booked an apartment that was located in a nice area, but we were quite blown away by the location. Just around the corner is the very pleasant Kollwitzplatz which is surrounded by nice restaurants and cafés. The
surrounding streets are also filled to brim with restaurants, and a couple of stone throws away you will find Kastanienallee with all of its restaurants, shops and nightlife.
I give this apartment my highest recommendation.
