Mitte is a great place to start strolling around the art galleries in Berlin, many of which are very informal and you can be very comfortable just casually walking in for a look around. The best areas are along Sophienstrasse which joins up with Auguststrasse, a road where you can find an endless variety of works on display in small independently run galleries.

Kollektiv Berlin & The Friedrichshoehe
