YOGA & WELLNESS IN BERLIN
Yoga has been popular in Berlin since the 1930s and this is borne out by its ready availability in every shape and form, from Bikram to Iyengar. In Prenzlauer berg and Mitte especially there seems to be a Yoga Shala every couple of blocks, and you’ll be surprised by the standard. Berliners are a flexible people and they take their yoga seriously. Personally I’ve always been a fan of Ashtanga, and though as I say every taste is catered for, with Ahstanga and Vinyasa you’re spoilt for choice. Try the
Yoga Shala at,79 Kastanienallee, Berlin, 10435 (030 28 39 16 33) or
Raum fur Yoga, 17 Chauseestrasse, Berlin, 10155 (030 28 39 16 33) or

Most places will do classes in English if you ask politely, and various gyms and shalas have specific English led classes. A good starting point is Hatha yoga with Dorota, an English led class at, 3 Fehrbellinerstrasse on Tuesdays Thursdays and Fridays (030 40 50 56 64)

BEAUTY & MASSAGE IN BERLIN
If you’re looking for a bit of pampering Berlin definitely has it and for a fraction of the costs that you might be used to paying. I had a very relaxing aromatherapy back massage and my friend had a quick pedicure, which actually lasted 20 minutes and included a foot oil exfoliation. You can even have coffee & cake whilst you’re getting pampered. It is recommended that you book in advance.

BATHING IN BERLIN
Forget about your traditional local swimming pool, Liquidrom is a public bath with a difference, it epitomises the new urban bathing culture. The pool contains warm salty water rather than chlorine. There are also psychedelic projections and different styles of relaxing music playing each night, for that ultimate chilled bathing experience
