An exciting and enjoyable event for both participants and spectators, the Berlin Marathon is one of the biggest annual events in the capital, and for sports fans an excellent opportunity soak up the energetic atmosphere of a world class competition. Organisers expect around one million people to come and watch professional and amateur athletes alike run through the city’s iconic landscape. The course starts and finishes near the Brandenburg Gate then passes Charlottenburg, around Tiergarten, along Moabit and Mitte, and then south to Friedrichshain. After that, it winds west between Kreuzberg and Neukölln, through Schöneberg, over to Steglitz and Zehlendorf, before turning north back toward the center.
