Transmediale is an annual, international festival devoted to art and digital culture, taking place at Berlin’s Haus der Kulturen der Welt. Now in its 26th year, the festival stages an impressive roster of exhibitions, workshops, performances, talks, publications and projects to examine and reflect upon the relationships between art, technology and culture. This year, the pioneering festival explores the displacement and invention that takes place as more and more cultural processes become mediated by technology, and asks, “Can impossible and unrealistic uses and abuses of technology be translated into new cultural imaginaries?”
