Who Is Be-My-Guest?
Be My Guest was born out of the experiences of it’s two founders, George and Sarah. In 2007 they moved from London to Berlin and were inspired by their sense of discovery of Germany’s capital. They were passionate about the city and wanted to share their enjoyment of all the exciting places on offer. Combined with experiences of searching for and staying in guest rooms and apartments whilst travelling around Europe they hit upon an idea. The idea was to create a way for visitors on a short or long city break to get real local inside tips and stay in residential accommodation provided by locals because that is the best way to get in touch with the local people, culture and lifestyle.
Back in 2008 there were no English language websites in Berlin offering handpicked accommodation and none of the others had any local guide information to help you choose where to stay. The result was that in May 2009 Be My Guest was born, offering a service that handpicks a choice selection of stylish but affordable accommodation along with first-hand local guide information. This included advice about ideal areas to stay in along with our eating and drinking favourites. After many visits to friends living in Amsterdam and Edinburgh, these cities we incorporated in to the collection to provide you a wider choice of further exciting cities to experience in the best way possible. Since then we have gone from strength to strength and have grown into a team of highly motivated travel professionals who strive to bring you the choicest selection of quality accommodation and first-hand advice.
George & Sarah in Graefekeiz, Kreuzberg - "One of our favourite areas of Berlin".
We only work with local independent accommodation providers and always try to highlight the best indpendent small business for places to visit and enjoy on your trip. From the very beginning our philosophy was to combine some of the best local tips and advice with accommodation in the most interesting residential parts of the city. Through this you really get to know the local culture by eating, shopping, drinking and relaxing in the same places as the locals do. Of course, this can take time and we whole heartidly endorse the slow travel philosophy of taking your time to soak up the atmosphere and appreciate each moment. With this in mind we always have some great value places for a month or more. Not everyone has enough time to enjoy such an adventure so if only a week or weekend is possible, then we can help. Let us help you find your own experience of local life through our local tips and we're always on hand for advice about the city.
