Bars in Amsterdam

Bars in Amsterdam

Amsterdam’s streets are really busy at night, as both tourists and locals venture out in the many bars and clubs. Although most of the good places are really crowded they are definitely worth it, and the atmosphere is joyful and friendly.

Cocktail at the Sky Lounge, Mint Hotel, Centre

Make the most of the high life in Amsterdam and sip a cocktail on the 11th floor of the Mint Hotel. The outside terrace is a great place to soak up the wonderful views of Amsterdam and share a colourful concoction with friends.

Wynand Fockink , Centre

Founded in the late 1600’s this charming bar offers a great variety of genever (local drink that resembles gin) based drinks. The well-maintained interior gives you a sense of the history of the place. Only open from 3-8pm daily.

Sake & Co, Centre

Specializes in sake (Japanese rice wine) and offers original Asian inspired cocktails. You will find a great selection of classic and modern cocktails as well though.

Kamer 401, Centre

One of the several trendy bars along Marnixstraat, Kamer 401 attracts mostly young locals who pack the place till late. If this is too crowded you may want to try the Lux, next door (it is a similar scene and equally popular).

De Pilsener Club, a.k.a. De Engelse reet, Centre

This pub has been around for 125 years now, and the owners have made sure everything looks and feels like it did back then – from the original sandy floorboards to the yellowed pictures on the wall.
