Accommodation in Berlin & Amsterdam...
Berlin Holiday Apartments
Holiday apartments have been on the rise every since the craze for designer hotels and staying somewhere unique started in the 1990’s. Since then, travellers have been looking for different types of trendy or stylish accommodation to experience a city, and hip holiday apartments have become one of the most popular options.
Indeed a stylish Berlin holiday apartment gives an alternative experience to that of a Berlin hotel or hostel as staying in a flat often gives guests that “home from home” feeling that we all appreciate when abroad. And on a more practical level, a holiday apartment has all the mod cons you would have at home, including your own kitchen and very often books & CDs. Our stylish holiday apartments in Berlin offer families and friends much more flexible accommodation and couples get the privacy they will want for a romantic getaway! You may have heard from your friends that they have stayed in a flat whilst on holiday but you are not sure where to find an apartment yourself. Well, you’ve found the right place, but maybe you are not sure what to expect. All of our trendy Berlin holiday apartments have been vetted either by ourselves or by personal recommendation from someone we trust, so you can rest assured that the apartment comes up to scratch. Just bear in mind, check in time is usually after 14:00, but most of the owners of the accommodation can be flexible about this, so please contact us in advance if this is the case.
All of our holiday apartments in Berlin come with towels and fresh clean linen, unless otherwise stipulated. You will have to bring your own toiletries such as soap and shampoo. Everything should be fine but if you do notice anything wrong or need help with something, please speak to the owner/representative person who met you on arrival.
Amsterdam Holiday Apartments
Holiday apartment in Amsterdam have also become very popular in the last few years as a way for the locals to make a good income and for travellers to get good value for money. Amsterdam is quite an expensive city so the short-stay apartments are really a fantastic alernative to a hotel or hostel in Amsterdam and a good shield from all the stag and hen parties that may use the more mainstream accommodation! Travellers and tourists are also attracted to the apartments in Amsterdam because generally it gives them more room and flexibility that the majority of most hotels in Amsterdam do not offer. It is therefore a great option for a sole traveller or those in a group or family. Please check individual listings to see which apartment is most compatible for you. Please be aware that the majority of apartments in Amsterdam to have steep steps, which is very typical style so do take this into consideration when packing!
Another draw of the holiday apartments in Amsterdam the location. Not only have we started to offer accommodation in the city centre of Amsterdam near to the the canals and the historical sites, so you can enjoy the pretty surroundings, but also in other less "famous" areas. For example in the Ost which may not be as well known, but equally as pretty, more affordable and only 15 minutes into the centre. We like to offer a good selection of areas for apartments in Amsterdam because they offer a real insight into the local culture and is also close to other attractions that you might not usually get to see.
As in Berlin, all the Amsterdam apartments have fresh bed linen and towels so it's one less thing to pack!
Berlin Bed and Breakfast
In contrast with the holiday apartment, the Bed and Breakfast in Berlin or B&B for short, has been popular since the 1960’s. It was often seen as a cheaper, wholesome option to a hotel. Nowadays the Bed and Breakfast has changed, in Berlin anyway! The Berlin Bed and Breakfast is no longer an out-of date private home, with out of date facilities and décor. All of our Berlin Bed and Breakfasts are contemporary, clean, hip and stylish. In comparison to the old notion of the B&B, most of the bed and breakfasts that we publish are of course privately owned but can either be a guest house style accommodation (see below) or a self-contained flat with the added option of having breakfast provided. The owners live close by, so in good old fashioned bed and breakfast tradition, a home-made breakfast can be prepared for you in the morning. As to what to expect when you arrive, it’s the same for all of our accommodation. Check in after 14:00, but this can be flexible. Also, please tell the owner directly that you would like breakfast, which you will have to pay a little extra for, directly to the owner.
All of the bed and breakfasts in Berlin come with towels and fresh clean linen, unless otherwise stipulated. You will have to bring your own toiletries such as soap and shampoo. Everything should be fine but if you do notice anything wrong or need help with something, please speak to the owner/representative person who met you on arrival.
Amsterdam Bed and Breakfast
The Bed and Breakfasts in Amsterdam that we offer through our website are often also a room in the owners private flat. Unlike Berlin, the B&B's in Amsterdam often include the breakfast in the price, so please check this on each listing. The breakfasts are typically served in an adjcent room or left on a tray outside the room making the bed and breakfast option a nice bit of luxury to have when on holiday or travelling.
The beauty of staying in a Amsterdam style Bed and Breakfast is that you really get to stay in some wonderfull canal houses experiencing life as a local. All of the Bed and Breakfast rooms in Amsterdam come with fresh bed linen & towels as well so it's a bit less to pack!
Berlin Guest houses/Guest room
The Guest house or Guest room in Berlin, as featured on our website, gives you all of the advantages of the traditional Bed and Breakfast in that the owners live on the premises. This is seen as one of the biggest draws of the guest house as an option in Berlin as you still get all the modern facilities in stylish and charming surroundings, but there is contact with your local Berliner host. So there is the opportunity to tap into the local knowledge of the host which can reveal many more interesting attractions and ideas for things to do than a guide book ever can. Choosing a Guest house in Berlin is probably the most authentic way to experience Berlin and offers a much more personal experience! Again, we have the same principles when publishing a Guest house on our website. All of them have been selected to offer comfort, charm and value for money. As with all the other accommodation, check in times are usually after 14:00. With Guest houses Breakfast is sometimes provided but not in all cases, so please discuss this with the owner if appropriate.
All of the Guest houses in Berlin come with towels and fresh clean linen, unless otherwise stipulated. You will have to bring your own toiletries such as soap and shampoo. Normally everything is fine, but if you do notice anything wrong with the room or need help with something, please speak to the owner/representative person who met you on arrival.
Amsterdam Guest Rooms
Much like the Bed and Breakfast option, the draw of staying in an Amsterdam style guest room in a private flat is very attractive as you sample a slice of the real Amsterdam life often in a typical neighbourhood alongside the Dutch and locals. The connection not only with the city of Amsterdam but also the owner is of course beneficial for tips and suggestions for things to do and see in Amsterdam. As most of the owners of the guest rooms in Amsterdam speak both Dutch, English and other languages it should be easy to communicate. Many people will be drawn to the guest rooms as they are of course great value for money, so a good option if you would like to stay in Amsterdam from the comfort of your own guest room on a budget.
